New 110t for Horizon

Scotland’s Horizon Reinforcing and Crane Hire has added a new 110 tonne Liebherr LTM 1110-5.1 All Terrain crane to its fleet. The company is also celebrating 50 years in business.

The five axle crane features a seven section 60 metre main boom plus a 10.8 to 19 metre bi-fold swingaway extension. Two seven metre lattice extensions can be added to offer a maximum tip height of almost 96 metres. It can travel with 13.1 tonnes of counterweight within 12 tonne axle loads or all 29 tonnes within the 16 tonne axle loads allowed in the UK.

Based in Falkirk Horizon was established in 1973 by William Dougall, originally as a steel reinforcing company, and began renting its cranes out to others in 1986. His son Steven joined the business full time on leaving school and now owns the business, working alongside sister, Maxine, who has also been with the company since leaving school. More recently Steven’s sons Stewart and David have joined the company.
Today the company runs a crane fleet that includes All Terrain truck mounted and mole self-erecting tower cranes with capacities up to 300 tonnes.
