More City cranes for Schmidbauer

German crane rental company Schmidbauer has taken delivery of two 45 tonne Tadano AC 3.045-1 city type All Terrain cranes - part of a six unit order.

The new crane has a 31.2 metre main boom plus a 7.1 to 13 metre swingaway extension, taking the maximum tip height to more than 45 metres. The crane features Tadano’s Flex Base variable outrigger set-up, with the crane control system monitoring actual beam extension and slew position to calculate the optimum load chart for the configuration. Schmidbauer ordered all six AC 3.045-1 City units plumbed ready for the Tadano E-Pack battery electric power unit, which allows it to operate noise and emission free.

Tadano delivered the first three of the six cranes in November while one more is due to arrive shortly. One of the latest units has gone to the company’s Ingolstadt depot in Bavaria, while the other is destined for the Fricke-Schmidbauer location in Brunswick, which also had one from the first three.

Fricke-Schmidbauer managing director Mitja Schimek said: “The extremely compact AC 3.045-1 City is simply our crane of choice when it comes to projects in urban areas and tight work sites. That’s why our team is really excited about getting another one of these cranes for our fleet."

Ingolstadt branch manager Christian Schlagbauer added: “On top of that, the crane has extraordinary lifting capacities generally and especially when telescoping under load. This makes it simply unbeatable from our perspective when it comes to indoor projects.”

Based in Gräfelfing near Munich, Schmidbauer runs a fleet of All Terrain, mobile self-erecting tower cranes, crawler cranes, loader and spider cranes from 27 locations across Germany along with three international locations in Estonia, Finland and France.
