UK rental company Emerson Crane Hire has taken delivery of a new 450 tonne Liebherr LTM 1450-8.1, part of a multi crane order that included four other cranes ranging from a 60 tonne LTM 1060-3.1 which will feature on the Vertikal Days stand, up to a 110 tonner.
The eight axle LTM 1450-8.1 can travel with its full 85 metre main boom in place, along with outriggers and winch within 12 tonne axle loads. In the UK where axle loads of up to 16 tonnes are tolerated, it can also travel with its seven metre swingaway extension and up to 24 tonnes of counterweight on board. The crane comes complete with VarioBallast adjustable counterweight and VarioBase variable outrigger set up system. It will also share the use of a luffing jib already in the Emerson fleet. All five models are equipped with Variobase, remote controls and bio-degradable hydraulic oil.

Emerson operates a fleet of around 60 mobile cranes alongside a number of mini crawlers and spider cranes from its locations in Dagenham and Iver, greater London.
