The Saudi Arabian division of Japanese industrial plant construction and maintenance contractor Sankyu, has taken delivery of two Liebherr All Terrain cranes, a 50 tonne LTM 1050-3.1 and 180 tonne LTM 1160-5.2.
The five axle LTM 1160-5.2 features a six section 62 metre main boom, plus a 10.8 to 19 metre bi-fold swingaway extension. Together with the three additional seven metre inserts between boom nose and swingaway it provides a maximum tip height of 104 metres and a maximum radius of 78 metres. The new cranes, the company’s first Liebherrs, will be mainly used for maintenance work in refineries and other industrial facilities.
Deputy branch manager Mahdi Al Salem said: "To grow our business in Saudi Arabia and live up to our vision and mission of being number one in mechanical industry maintenance, we need to rely on strong customer service and products with a high level of safety. The new cranes from Liebherr are a perfect fit for our support team. With Liebherr, we can rely on competent and fast service should the cranes ever break down.
