New flagship for Strele

Lithuanian crane rental company Strele Logistics has taken delivery of a new 700 tonne Liebherr LTM1650-8.1, which takes over as the company’s flagship crane from its 500 tonne Liebherr LTM 1500-8.1. The crane is currently en route and will arrive at the port of Klaipedanext week. It will be used to cover work throughout the Baltic states of Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia.

Strele ordered the eight axle LTM 1650-8.1 with the 54 metre main boom, but it can always add the additional sections for the 80 metre option at a later date. It does expect to use the shorter boom with the 21 to 91 metre luffing jib and Y-guying system for maximum tip heights of up to 155 metres and maximum radii of up to 112 metres. Other features include the VarioBallast hydraulically variable counterweight system, Stage V diesels with ECOdrive and ECOmode fuel and emission saving devices and Variobase variable outrigger set up and monitoring.

Established in 1972 as a state owned enterprise, Strele is based in Mažeikiai, northern Lithuania, and runs a fleet of 49 cranes, mostly All Terrains, along with a couple of crawler cranes and operates from seven locations, four in Lithuania, and one each in Latvia, Estonia and Sweden, from which it provides crane rental and other services.
