LTM 1650-8.1 for Ulferts & Wittrock

German crane rental company Ulferts & Wittrock has taken delivery of new Liebherr LTM 1650-8.1 mobile crane. The 700 tonne crane replaces an LTM 1500-8.1 in the fleet, which has served for eight years, and is now the most powerful telescopic crane in the group.

The eight axle crane features a basic four section 54 metre boom which converts to a six section 80 metre boom when required. A 90 metre luffing jib is also available. Other features include the VarioBallast hydraulically variable counterweight system, Stage V diesels with ECOdrive and ECOmode fuel and emission saving devices and Variobase variable outrigger set up and monitoring.

Ulferts & Wittrock was founded in 1989 by Klaus Wittrock and Hermann Ulferts in Oldenburg, west of Bremen. The company began as a logistics service provider catering to the heavy transport market with five mobile cranes.

Over the years, the company has experience continuous growth influenced by the increasing demand for wind turbine installations. Its fleet now includes All Terrain cranes from 30 and 600 tonnes, crawler cranes from 130 to 650 tonnes as well as a number of self-erecting mobile tower cranes, aerial work platforms of all types and telehandlers. It now operates from 10 locations in Germany: - Oldenburg, Brake, Hamburg, Hollenstedt, Wilhelmshaven, Hollenstedt, Schwerin, Kiel, Flensburg and Lübeck.
