The Hungarian Defence Force has purchased three 60 tonne Sany SAC600E All Terrain cranes.
The three cranes were purchased through Sany Cranes distributor Terra Hungária via a public tender and have now been delivered.
The three axle cranes have a six section 50 metre pinned main boom to which a 16 metre bi-fold swingaway extension can be added for a maximum tip height of around 69 metres, while offering up to 40 degrees of offset. The crane is rated at three metres and can manage 6.4 tonnes on the fully extended boom at a radius of up to 13 metres.
The front and rear axles are driven while all three are steered for a 6x4x6 configuration. Maximum counterweight is 13 tonnes which can be carried on board where 16 tonne axle loads are permitted, alternatively it can travel with 4.2 tonnes of counterweight on board within 12 tonne axle loads. Maximum road speed is 80kph, the overall travel length is just under 12 metres.
They will be used primarily for disaster management purposes and have been equipped with a number of extras such as a tilting cab and full training for the military personnel.
Terra Hungária, part of the Vienna, Austria, headquartered Terra Holding, is based on the south side of Budapest and represents Sany Crane across several Central and Eastern European countries including Romania and Bulgaria as well as Hungary.
In total Terra covers 13 central/Eastern European markets, Austria, Bosnia/Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Kosovo, Hungary, Macedonia, Montenegro, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia and Slovakia.
