The boom of telescopic marine crane bashed into the William the Conqueror Bridge, in Rouen, France on December 24th, jamming into the structure, ripping it from the boat and becoming stuck.
The crew of the boat, travelling in the Paris to Le Harve direction – essentially North – apparently forgot to stow the crane before travelling under the bridge. It remained in position until it was removed in a tandem lift by two cranes from the Autaa fleet while a team of abseilers with cutting gear cut it free from the structure.
