450t Tadano for City Lifting

UK crane rental company City Lifting has taken delivery of a new 450 tonne Tadano AC 7.450-1.

The seven axle crane is equipped with a seven section 80 metre main boom and can also be equipped with an 81 metre luffing jib and the enhanced SSL Sideways Superlift system. It can travel with a gross vehicle weight of 79.5 tonnes and an overall length of 17 metres with the main boom and hook block on board. City Lifting ordered the crane complete with the 81 metre luffing jib.

The new crane has completed its first job, erecting two new Potain MCT 68 tower cranes purchased by Balfour Beatty at the Intercontinental Hotel in Greenwich, London. The crane was rigged with 74 metres of main boom, the Sideways Superlift systems and a 30 metre straight extension topped by a six metre hydraulically offsettable section for a tip height of 115 metres.

The extension with two 12m sections + 6m section topped by a 6m hydraulic offset jib

Speaking of the new crane chief executive Trevor Jepson said: “With many towns and cities making the movement of heavy cranes very difficult due to weak structures and restrictive movement times this crane will be very useful.”
Based in Essex on the East side of London, City Lifting runs a fleet of more than 70 mobile cranes and 160 tower cranes.
