700 tonner for Mexico

Mexican rental company Gruas Y Maniobras del Bajio (GMB) has taken delivery of a 700 tonne Liebherr LTM 16050-8.1 All Terrain crane.

The eight axle crane features a basic four section 54 metre boom which converts to a six section 80 metre boom when required. It can also be equipped with a 91 metre luffing jib, for a maximum tip height of 158 metres. The LTM 1650-8.1 also features VarioBase variable outrigger set up and monitoring and VarioBallast which infinitely adjusts the counterweight radius from 6.3 to 8.4 metres.
The handover

GMB said: “When we saw the new crane in the Liebherr UpLoad magazine, we realised that the LTM 1650-8.1 was the best option among the eight axle cranes we looked at. We often call ourselves ‘The House of Liebherr in Querétaro’ because Liebherr is the best brand on the market and we want to continue to grow to be the leading crane company in our region.”
(L-R) Christian Tableros of Liebherr, Oscar Sanchez of GMB, Arturo Flores of Liebherr and Oscar Jorge Cruz of GMB

The crane will be used predominately for infrastructure and construction projects, in industry and on wind farms. It succeeds a 350 tonner already in the GMB fleet and therefore opens up new market opportunities.
