Kranlyft UK unveils new Maeda

Maeda's European master distributor Kranlyft has held an open day at its UK base in Avonmouth, Bristol. The event - which included a Barbecue along with music by the B Flats led by Bill Ellis of Ellis Crane Hire - included several new cranes from Maeda, Klaas and Terex Self Erecting Tower Cranes.

Maeda

Among the Maeda cranes on display was the world’s first - serial number K0001 - 2.8 tonne Maeda MK3053-C spider crane. The fully proportional remote controlled crane unveiled at Bauma 2022 features a five section main boom with a three section telescopic jib for a maximum tip height of 16.95 metres at which point it can handle 50kg it can also take out to the maximum radius of 14.5 metres.

Capacity on the retracted jib is 1,000kg which is available at a hook height of 12.5 metres and a radius of 4.6 metres with a fully extended main boom horizontal. The crane can also handle 360kg at 9.5 metres with the fully extended main boom and jib horizontal.

Overall stowed dimensions are 780mm by 3.2 metres with an overall height of 1.95 metres. The tracks can be extended to 1.05 metres for more stability when travelling. The unit features variable outrigger settings and a new boom nose design.

UK aerial lift, crane and glass handling company Hird will received the world’s first MK3050-C after the open day. The MK3053 will also be available with its own custom built trailer supplied by Hazlewood Trailers near Evesham. With a total combined weight of less than 3,500kg, it can be towed by 4x4s and pickups.

Klaas
Several Klaas aluminium truck cranes were also on display, including the K850RS, K1003RHX and the K280 trailer crane. Recent deliveries include a K1100RHX to Ken Harrop Crane Hire in Warrington. The six tonne K1100 has a 60 metre hook height and can take two tonnes to 23 metres, 500kg to 45 metres and 350kg to a maximum radius of 55 metres.

Terex
Kranlyft UK is now the Terex Self-Erecting Tower Crane distributor for the UK and Ireland, the Open Day served as a soft launch prior to Vertikal Days and featured the new 4.4 tonne Terex CSE 32 with 32 metre jib and 1.05 tonne jib tip capacity.
