Straight Nifty arrives

Niftylift finally launched its first telescopic boom lift, the 65ft all electric HR22SE at Vertikal Days in the UK last week.

The new machine has a three section telescopic boom topped by a jib with 150 degrees of articulation. The maximum working height is 21.7 metres, with a maximum working outreach of 18.8 metres and an unrestricted platform capacity of 280kg.

The HR22SE can be equipped with the company’s hydrogen fuel cell to create a hybrid model, a significant number of Niftylift booms – mostly HR17s - equipped with the fuel cell have been operating with lead customer Speedy Hire since early 2023. Ongoing feedback suggests that the replaceable hydrogen cylinders last far longer than originally anticipated, due to the more than adequate battery capacity, and that performance and reliability has exceeded expectations by a wide margin.

The 48 Volt power supply comes from eight 400Ah AGM maintenance free batteries driving a new low noise hydraulic pump and two wheel direct electric drive and steer. They are said to have sufficient storage capacity for more than a full day's operation before needing to be recharged.

Both upper and lower controls feature a 4.3 inch display screen with information on machine status. Standard features include Nifty’s SiOPS secondary guarding system, Niftylink telematics and an on board 60 Amp charger. Options include the company’s ‘ClipOn’ harness/lanyard attachment detector.

The new telescopic has an overall width of 2.49 metres, an overall height of 2.7 metres and an overall stowed length of just over nine metres, or 7.2 metres with the jib tucked under. Tail swing is just 550mm, while the overall weight is 9.980kg.
Overall weight is under 10t and length can be reduced to 7.2m

Managing director John Keely said: “Customers have been asking us for a simplified, lower cost, straight boom Niftylift for some time, so we are delighted to introduce the HR22 SE. It’s perfect for construction, and industrial applications, and delivers great reach and control from an all-electric design that ensures lower noise and emissions on site.”
outreach is 18.8m
