First 153ft Sinoboom for Europe

Chinese manufacturer Sinoboom has completed the design, test and build schedule for the CE version of its 153ft AB46RJ articulated boom lift. The very first unit has been purchased by German rental company Hӓssler Lift.

The first European unit has been purchased by German rental company Hӓssler Lift and will ship from the manufacturer’s Changsha plant over the next week or so, having been inspected and approved by Hӓssler’s chief executive and owner Dennis Schröder this weekend.

The new machine has a maximum working height of 48.6 metres, a maximum outreach of 25.5 metres with the unrestricted platform capacity of 275kg or just under 24 metres with the maximum capacity of 455kg. Both at an up & over reach of around 19 metres, thanks to the three section telescopic riser and three section top boom, plus an articulating jib that also offers up to 150 degrees of rotation.

The overall stowed width is 2.49 metres, opening up in classic style to around five metres. The overall length is 12.3 metres with the jib tucked away for transport, or 15 metres when stowed onsite, and an overall height of 3.2 metres with jib out or tucked. Total weight is 27.3 tonnes.

The company introduced the AB46 in 2019, with the first five units or so delivered locally. In the past year or so the manufacturer shipped its first model overseas to Singapore, followed by two for India, one for Australia and several to Russia.

This year Sinoboom engineers have been refining the 46, adding an EU stage V diesel and emissions controls, along with a number of other refinements and improvements, including the switch from all steel superstructure covers/shrouds to a heavy duty, but lighter composite material.

n addition, the company has booked a major order in the Middle East for this model with the 30th unit likely to come offline by the end of the year.

Based in Halle, Hӓssler Lift dates back to the earliest days of the German self-propelled rental market, when, with the help of Skyjack founder Wolf Haessler who supplied and encouraged his brother Thomas Hӓssler senior to take a few scissor lifts into his building company. They soon started renting them out and before too long the rental business took over, his son Thomas Hӓssler joined the company and in 2018 brought his friend Dennis Schröder into the business. the company did well and around four years later Thomas worked out a deal that allowed Schröder to take it over. Today the company operates from Halle, with satellite operations in Leipzig for self-drive machines. The 300 plus strong fleet includes, Scissor and boom lifts, spider lifts, trailer lifts and truck mounts.
