Tree trimming fatality

A man has died after the trailer lift he was using overturned while he was trimming trees in Anderson, South Carolina, roughly halfway between Atlanta and Charlotte.

The incident occurred last Monday, November 11th, when the self-employed man, Daniel Christopher Brown, 51, was working for a local homeowner. He had rented the platform which appears to be a Niftylift 120, and apparently had not set the outriggers. Alyssa Whitfield of the Anderson County Office of the Coroner is quoted as saying: “The cherry picker stabiliser was not deployed and this oversight and the increasing winds that day likely contributed to the equipment tipping over.”

Sadly, by the time the emergency services arrived Brown was in cardiac arrest and was declared dead at the scene.
