UK crane rental company Dewsbury & Proud has taken delivery of a 100 tonne Grove GMK4100-2 All Terrain crane, completing a three unit order that included another 100 tonne GMK4100L-2 and a 250 tonne GMK5250XL. The other cranes arrived late last year.
The GMK4100L-2 features a 60 metre seven section main boom, topped by a 9.7 to 16 metre hydraulic luffing bi-fold swingaway extension, for which an additional eight metre insert is available that can be installed between the boom nose and swingaway, for a maximum tip height of 89 metres. The crane can carry up to 6.8 tonnes of its 26 tonnes maximum counterweight within 12 tonne axle loads, or 21.2 tonnes with the UK's maximum 16.5 tonne axle loads, including the all wheel drive option. Power comes from a Stage V Mercedes with ECO mode, and HVO fuel compatibility.
