Bahrain based Haji Hassan Cranes has taken delivery of three new Liebherr All Terrain cranes - an 180 tonne LTM 1160-5.2 and two 90 tonne LTM 1090-4.2s.
The five axle LTM 1160-5.2 will fill a gap between the company's 120 and 300 tonne cranes, it features a six section 62 metre main boom and a 10.8 to 19 metre bi-fold swingaway extension with hydraulic luffing. Three additional seven metre lattice sections can be installed between the boom nose and swingaway for a maximum tip height of 104 metres. It also includes Eco Mode drive systems and the Variobase outrigger set up system, and VarioBallast adjustable counterweight.

The four axle LTM 1090-4.2s will replace older 80 tonne model, and feature a 60 metre main boom plus a 9.5 to 16 metre bi-fold swingaway extension with manual offset to offer a maximum tip height of just under 80 metres. Features include Liebherr’s VarioBase variable outrigger setup and remote control system, along with Ecodrive and Ecomode systems.
Deepak Pillai, Hassan's operations manager said: “The 90 tonners convinced us with the short set-up time, the 60 metre main boom and the excellent lifting performance. This allows us to carry out even challenging lifting operations safely and quickly.”

Hassan general manager Manaf Al Sarabi added: "Our previous units from Liebherr - the LTM 1500 8.1 and the LTM 1070-4.2 - have proven to be a wise decision. Thanks to the cranes, we were able to safely plan and carry out a wide range of lifting operations and thus gain a competitive advantage in the market.”
Based in Manama and founded in 1975, the company runs a fleet of 13 All Terrain cranes with capacities from 50 to 500 tonnes and employs 30. The new cranes will work on a variety of applications including oil refineries, steel plants, petrochemical facilities, construction sites and sewage treatment plants.
