Konecranes Gottwald duo for Bulgaria

Bulgarian port operator BMF Port Burgas has ordered two 200 tonne Konecranes Gottwald ESP.9 Generation 6 mobile harbour cranes, scheduled for delivery in the fourth quarter.

The cranes have a maximum lifting capacity of 200 tonnes and a maximum radius of 59 metres. They are mounted on 10 axle chassis with a cab height of 27 metres. Both cranes will be equipped with external power supplies to reduce emissions and operating costs.

The order follows the company's experience with four pre-owned Konecranes Gottwald cranes purchased 12 years ago, which were retrofitted with electric power supplies in 2016 and 2021.

BMF project manager Nikola Kosev said: "Our existing Konecranes equipment has proven its reliability and efficiency for more than a decade – meeting our expectations every step of the way. We're excited to now reach the milestone of investing in two brand new cranes, significantly boosting our performance in handling both project cargo and containers."

The new cranes will support the company's expansion at its Burgas West Terminal, where it has developed a new deep water berth to handle larger vessels and heavier cargo.
