UK rental company Eastern Crane Hire has taken delivery of a 60 tonne Liebherr LTM 1060-3.1 All Terrain crane, its second unit of this model and fifth new Liebherr in eight years.
The three axle LTM 1060-3.1 is equipped with a six section 48 metre boom, topped by a 9.5 to 16 metre bi-fold swingaway extension which takes the maximum tip height to more than 67 metres, while also offering up to 40 degrees of offset. The crane can carry all its 12.8 tonnes of counterweight within the UK’s STGO regulations which allows axle loads of up to 16.5 tonnes. A special folding extension has been ordered for work in confined spaces such as installing crane runways.
The handover
Managing director Chris Ashworth said: "Adding a second LTM 1060-3.1 to our growing fleet was an easy decision. Since taking delivery of our first 60 tonner in 2020, the call for this size crane has become very popular and has helped us grow our customer base considerably. The Liebherr crane is very user friendly and makes it the perfect choice from a company owner and operator's perspective."
