Quick wits and a handy stack of blocks saved a man’s life last month when a crane's boom came down onto him in Nanjing, Jiangsu province, China last week.

The crane’s chassis snapped
From photos and video footage we have seen the crane, a four axle XCMG truck crane, was lifting a load over the front of the crane to the 22nd floor of a high rise building, on April 26th, when it lost stability, the overturn snapped the chassis in two as might be expected in this type of incident when working over the front with a truck crane.

The investigation is said to be ongoing, amazingly no one was injured in the incident and most of the damage incurred was to the crane.
