UK based Aconda Industrial Carriers has received the King's Award for Enterprise in Innovation for its development of compact load carrying equipment.
The Aconda founders outside the company's base in Witham
The award recognises the company's development of battery powered remote controlled tracked carriers, designed to transport loads of up to 4,000kg in confined spaces. The machines can operate in areas as narrow as 750mm and handle gradients of up to 45 degrees. The machines are currently operating across railway maintenance, construction, forestry operations, heritage site conservation and emergency services sectors.
Aconda founders Tom and Ashlea Cannon
Aconda founder and managing director Tom Cannon said: "We’re incredibly proud to receive the King’s Award for Enterprise, this honour reflects the hard work of our team and our dedication to British manufacturing. Our focus remains on developing practical solutions for complex material handling challenges."
The company continues to expand its operations from its Witham headquarters, with potential new distribution partnerships forming in Europe, North America and Canada. Development is also underway on new AI-assisted navigation features for future models.

Thank you very much for the positive comment Spidermewp, and to Vertikal for publishing the story.
We are lucky to have had such a great reception from UK crane hire companies in particular over the last few years, and to be recognised for our work is an honour.
I would urge anyone who is interested to visit our small factory in Essex to see how much effort our team puts in to making our machines perfect!
