German roofing contractor M. Höfges Bedachungen has taken delivery of a Böcker AHK 36e battery electric trailer crane with a direct drive electric winch.
The new unit working on a roof refurbishment in Issum

The two tonne capacity AHK 36e features a three section boom topped by a three section luffing jib, plus a two metre extension for a maximum tip height of almost 35 metres at which point it can handle 250kg at a radius of 23.1 metes and a height of 21 metres. The two tonnes maximum capacity can be taken to a radius of 5.4 metres, while 1,000kg is possible at 10 metres.

The crane operates on 230V battery power which the company says provides more than 10 hours operation in typical applications. The direct electric winch offers line speeds of up to 100 metres a minute while standard features including work lights, outrigger warning lights and a hook camera. The new unit will be used primarily for roof renovation work and material handling.

Talking about the cranes first job, Höfges Bedachungen said: "The three hour job was carried out entirely on the crane's battery pack, including manoeuvring, assembly and dismantling. At the end of the job, the battery charge was still at 70 percent."

Höfges Bedachungen specialises in roof renovations and construction projects throughout the Issum region in Western Germany.
