Second 230 tonner for Emerson

UK crane rental company Emerson Crane Hire has taken delivery of a Liebherr LTM 1230-5.1 All Terrain crane, the second 230 tonne unit in its fleet.

The five axle LTM 1230-5.1 is equipped with an eight section 75 metre main boom and can be topped by an 11.5 to 20 metre bi-fold swingaway extension that offsets by up to 40 degrees. Up to three, seven metre inserts can also be added between the boom nose and swingaway for a maximum tip height of 113 metres with the main boom at 68 metres.

Emerson's sales and operations director Wayne Carr said: "Following the success of our first LTM1230-5.1, this new investment further enhances our capabilities, ensuring efficiency, reliability and innovation in every project we undertake, we see this addition as a key step in delivering outstanding service and maintaining our position at the forefront of the industry."

The company has three additional Liebherr cranes on order: a 400 tonne LTM 1400-6.1 - which will be the first of its type in the UK - and two 150 tonne LTM 1150-5.4s.

Emerson Crane Hire was established by Edward Clancy in 1991 and now operates from three locations in Greater London - Dagenham, Basildon and Iver - with a fleet that ranges from three to 450 tonnes made up of mini crawler, spider, All Terrain and mobile self erecting tower cranes.
