Second LTM 1300 for NMT

UK rental company NMT Crane Hire has taken a second 300 tonne Liebherr LTM 1300-6.2 All Terrain crane.
The latest unit follows the delivery of a Liebherr 1300-3.2 crane last November.

The six axle crane features a seven section 78 metre main boom but this time the company has specified the 70 metre luffing jib option, taking the total investment to around £2.3 million. The move also maintains the fleet’s tally of three 300 tonners, following the disposal of one of the older units from Demag and Grove.

Joint managing director JD Ambridge said: "Fleet expansion has been central to our 2025 strategy. Our analysis of current contracts and pipeline opportunities made this decision straightforward. The first LTM 1300-6.2 has performed to expectations, and is busy, adding the luffing jib capability to a new crane addresses specific client requirements we have identified."

“The 70 metre luffing jib enables the crane to operate in confined spaces while maintaining exceptional reach and precision, capabilities that are essential for complex urban construction projects and industrial installations.”

Sales and operations director Gerry White added: "Adding this second 300 tonne Liebherr fundamentally strengthens our service proposition. The crane's ability to access tight spaces combined with its reach, radius, and now luffing capability creates unique solutions for our clients. We're already fielding enquiries specifically for this configuration."

NMT says its operators have completed a full training programmes Liebherr and plans to certify all operations and rigging personnel on the LTM 1300-6.2 platform.
Based in Bedford, southern England and founded in 1976, NMT runs a fleet of 20 cranes ranging from 40 to 500 tonnes and in addition to the regular construction and industrial related work, has a strong speciality service the TV and film industry.
