Sunbelt takes Hawkeye
Ashtead owned Sunbelt Rentals USA has acquired Hawkeye Equipment Rentals, of Fontana, near San Bernadino in Greater Los Angeles, California from founder/owner Chris Fix.
Fix set up Hawkeye in early 2002 having previously worked as a regional manager for Prime Equipment for five years before, moving to Rental Service Corp in 1996. Six years later he decided to set up on his own and Hawkeye was born.
Today the company has revenues in the region of $14 million with a fleet of 1,700 aerial lifts, telehandlers and forklifts, said to have a replacement cost of somewhere around $35 million. No details of the transaction have been releases so far.
