A crane overturned in Armagh, Northern Ireland yesterday, with the boom landing on the roof of a shopping centre/supermarket.
The crane, a four axle Liebherr from AB Cranes, was working with a long boom in order, it appeared, to lift material onto the roof, but something went wrong, either with the ground or outrigger set up, and it tipped with the boom landing on the wall and roof of the building.
We understand that no one was hurt, and the damage was not too extensive. The crane was recovered last night.
The Health & Safety Executive NI said that it had been informed of the incident and would be investigating.
