Danish glass handling machine manufacturer Smartlift has announced a 1,000kg glazing robot, the SLX2000 which will make its debut at Vertikal Days in September on the Central Platform Services (CPS) stand.
The SLX2000 can handle 1,000kg, at lift height of 5.25 metres and a boom extension of 2.3 metres. The unit has an overall width of just over a metre and weighs 1,900kg without attachments.
The machine features a rotary head/ yoke with continuous rotation and can pivot 88 degrees to either side. A quick change system enables switching between electric, hydraulic, standard and custom tools. All functions operate via remote control with optional remote drive controls.
The machine offers 65 degrees backward tilt, 98 degrees forward tilt and 100mm side shift. It is powered by dual 1,500W front wheel drive motors with up to 10 hours operation per charge. Charging takes eight hours using 230V or 110V supply.

CPS managing director John Burton said: "It's always exciting to see how year after year, Smartlift continues to innovate and enhance the capabilities of glass lifting equipment.”
“In my view, the SLX2000 is perfectly suited for curtain wall installers. It offers an impressive horizontal reach of 2.75 metres and features a fully remote controlled, motorised gimbal type vacuum head. This allows a single operator to push heavy curtain wall glass through an aperture, rotate it, and precisely position it all without assistance.”

“Another standout feature is the quick fix crane winch, which allows the SLX2000 to rapidly convert into a compact pick & carry crane.”
Central Platform Services is based in Pontefract, West Yorkshire - south east of Leeds - and was established in 2008 by the Burton brothers John & Neil who still own and manage the business. The company is the UK/Ireland authorised service partner for Bronto Skylift and authorised dealer for Smartlift glazing robots.
Based in Nykøbing Mors, Northern Denmark, Smartlift was established in 2008 – it produces electric vacuum lifters for construction and industrial applications.
