Liebherr has purchased a 133 acre (54 hectare) plot of land alongside its Ehingen plant in prepartion for its expansion programme.
The land will be used for a new customer centre and shipping building adjacent to the existing Liebherr facility. The project has been in planning since Autumn 2021. It will also include the relocation of certain processes from a service site it has in local area at Berkacher Grund.

The manufacturer says that it requires the additional space to optimise production processes, and that the move will involve the transfer or a small number of employees from the Berkacher Grund location.
The project will get underway in September when groundworks will begin with construction of the new buildings starting a month or two later.
