Manitou/Gehl has further expanded its distribution coverage in South America as it expands the Gehl brand coverage ‘South of the border’.
The company launched its efforts to build the Gehl brand in the region in 2024 and since then has added distribution partners in Brazil, Mexico, Panama, Peru, and more recently Colombia where it has just appointed Bogotá, based Chaneme.

Founded in 1982, Chaneme is part of auto parts, real estate mining and construction equipment company Grupo a> and also distributes Volvo construction equipment and SDLG excavators a wide range of automotive spare parts and accessories, operating from four sales locations in Medellin, Cali, Barranquilla, and Bogota. The company will sell and support all Gehl products, including its telehandlers.

Manitou managing director for South America Marcelo Bracco, said: "Our commitment to our customers in Central and South America is a paramount priority. This strategic expansion of our dealership network is a testament to our resolve to provide high quality equipment, supported by a comprehensive service offering. We are particularly enthusiastic about introducing Stage V compliant products in Colombia, to address the specific needs of this burgeoning market."
