Big Dingli’s for Nationwide

The UK’s largest aerial lift rental company Nationwide Platforms, part of the Loxam group, has added Dingli’s 138ft hybrid boom lifts to its fleet, adding both the BA44HRT articulated model and the telescopic BT44HRT. They are among the first of these new booms to arrive in the UK.
The BA44HRT features a three section telescopic lower boom/riser, topped by a three section top boom and an articulated jib, with almost 23 metres of outreach and an up & over height of 18.8 metres .

The BT44HRT boasts a working height of just over 44 metres, with a 27 metre outreach with 300kg in the platform, while the maximum capacity of 454kg can go to 24.9 metres.

Both models incorporate Dingli’s on the spot base extension system, which allows the lift’s base to be spread to its operating width, without needing to move or risking damage to ground surfaces.

The units have been ordered with hybrid power. Employing a high capacity lithium battery p[ack, said to be good for two to three days of typical work shifts, on a single charge. When battery levels drop to 30%, and the unit is in auto mode, the onboard diesel range extender automatically kicks in and recharges the battery to 90 percent.

Both units are equipped with Chalwyn valves and spark arrestors, for safer operation in hazardous or petrochemical environments. Earth bonding points are also integrated to safely discharge static electricity.
The units will be equipped with the company’s Harness On system, which requires the operator to clip their lanyard to the anchor point before the machine will function.

Chief operating officer Dan Smith said: “The addition of the BA44HRT and BT44HRT strengthens our position as the UK’s leading provider of specialist work at height solutions. These hybrid boom lifts combine exceptional height and reach with the kind of sustainable innovation our customers increasingly demand. Whether working in remote industrial zones or congested infrastructure projects, our clients now have the tools to operate at height more safely and more efficiently than ever before.”
