Telescopic lifting beam

Wisconsin based lifting gear manufacturer Caldwell has introduced a new telescopic lifting beam for telehandlers and forklifts.

The 375 x 375mm square profile beam telescopes from a closed length of 3.65 metres to six metres when fully extended, with seven intermediate positions – one every 305mm with a capacity of 4,500kg. it is fitted with a 4.5 tonne swivel hook at each end, while a mid-mounted hook is also available.

Caldwell developed the beam following a request from rigging gear rental company LGH, after a number of its customers reported needing something along these lines. The beam will be available to rental across LGH’s 24 locations in the USA and Canada

LGH product manager Chris Hyatte said: “We noticed a recurring challenge in the field, customers needed a way to lift and transport longer materials like rebar bundles and piping without the overhead clearance or access for cranes. Traditional forklift attachments just weren’t cutting it in terms of reach, adaptability, or safety. We saw an opportunity to create something better that would also maximise efficiency.”

“Customers love the versatility and how quickly they can adapt it to different lifting needs. Many have commented on how it has increased their material handling efficiency while keeping operations safe.”

Caldwell offers a wide range of solutions including jib and gantry cranes, below the hook attachments, slings, and tie-downs. It is also Rud chain and lifting fixtures partner for the US, a relationship that dates from 2018 when the two companies formed what they described as a ‘strategic partnership’.
