New UK access company

A new access rental company, SkyReach Solutions, has been set up in Wigan, Northeast England by James and Chris Moston and Phil Graysmark.

The new company has taken delivery of 18 electric powered Sinoboom scissor and mast lifts and is looking to do some further equipment shopping at this week's Vertikal Days.

James Moston began his access career as an apprentice with Nationwide Platforms before joining Powered Access Solutions as a service engineer in 2024 remaining with the company until co-founding SkyReach last month.

Chris Moston - James Moston's father - began his career in the access industry in 1972 as an apprentice for Kato Cranes, and transitioned from service to working in sales and rental roles, and has worked in the industry ever since, most recently for Manitou UK where he was national sales manager.

Graysmark began his access career with Terex Financial Services in 2006, moving to Genie in 2008 as divisional sales manager for the UK, Ireland, and the Benelux area, taking over from John Fuller. At the end of 2009 he was promoted to vice president of sales for Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and Russia, a job he held until he left the business towards the end of 2015 when Terex was moving all of its senior executives to Switzerland, something he was unable to do for family reasons.

He therefore moved to JCB as sales director of the new JCB Access business, a challenging position to say the least. In spite of this he spent three and a half years in the job, before leaving for LGMG where he was appointed European sales director. The company got off to a strong start, particularly in the UK where it appointed APS, and has continued to do well, but he left the business after two years to join LiuGong, leaving in 2023, for MEC. A few months later he took a role with Manitou as access sales manager until April of this year.

Director James Moston said: “We set up the company after gaining extensive industry experience – I have five years, my dad Chris Moston has 30 years, and Phil has similar experience. We have the knowledge and skills to create a reliable, trustworthy business for our customers. There’s definitely a future in this company and we’ve got the ability to make it great.”

“John Chandler and his team at Sinoboom have really gone the extra mile to help us out as a new company, and I can’t thank them enough.”
