Texan contractor MEI Industrial Solutions has taken delivery of a 250 tonne Link-Belt 300|AT crane.
The 300|AT
The five axle crane features a seven section 72.5 metre pinned main boom with a 12.8 to 21.6 metres bi-fold swingaway extension which can be hydraulically luffed or offset. two 7.6 metre lattice inserts take the maximum tip height to 112 metres. Alternatively, a 2.4 metre heavy duty extension provides good capacities and line separation for two line lifting for applications such as precast wall panel installation.
The company purchased the crane through Link-Belt Mid-Atlantic and put it straight to work on a data centre construction project, including lifting 13.5 tonne chillers and generators at MEI's staging yard in Chantilly, Virginia, near Washington Dulles Airport.

MEI crane operator Joshua Luis said: "We lift chillers, generators, you name it. Pulse 2.0 makes operating the 300|AT easy. If I have any trouble, I can call Link-Belt Mid-Atlantic, and they can assist and keep me working. With the 300|AT, I can pick generators with a six part line that other cranes would need eight parts of line for. That makes work a lot smoother and a lot faster.”
