JCB has announced a 60ft articulated boom lift, which will initially be available with all electric or hybrid powertrains – the A60E and A60EH.
The two new models feature the same dual riser, two section boom and articulating jib layout as JCB’s existing 45ft models but offer a 20.2 metre maximum working height and up to 11.9 metres of outreach with the 300kg unrestricted platform capacity. The maximum capacity is 454kg. The platform has three entry points with gates and a drop-bar entry.
Four wheel drive and non-marking tyres are standard with direct electric wheel motor drive with IP67 levels of waterproofing, two wheel steer and non-marking tyres .
Power comes from eight 6 volt AGM batteries, with a 400Ah capacity. The A60EH, is essentially a 60E plus a Kohler KDW1003 diesel with a 40 litre fuel tank. A60E and A60EH also have regenerative technology to recover electrical energy during braking and put it back into the battery pack.
The overall stowed length is 8.8 metres, while the overall width of 2.5 makes them a little trickier to shift outside of North America. Although the 650mm tail swing makes them a little easier to transport and to manoeuvre on site. Equipped with a seven inch base display, power to the platform and JCB LiveLink is standard. The new 60ft boom lifts share up to 52 percent of their components with the existing A45RTE
Note we still have not received the specification sheets for these models, and so we will update this item when they finally arrive.
