The fifth, Platform Günleri, Turkey’s specialist event for aerial work platforms was held last week.
The three day event ran from Thursday the 18th of September, until Saturday at the Istanbul Tuzla Autodrom. This year’s show was the largest so far with 35 exhibitors covering an exhibition area of 3,500 square metres. The three days included panel discussions and debates, seminars and live demonstration areas highlighting new safety systems, and digital solutions.
During the opening ceremony, Saruhan Günaydın the chairman of the Turkish aerial lift association, Platformder said: “The goal of what we do, and this event is to raise awareness of the risks when working at height and showcase best practices.”

Günaydın also noted that the aerial lift population in Turkey has increased by 90 percent over the past five years, from 18,500 units in 2020 to 35,000 by the end of 2024. Adding that with the increasing adoption of work platforms, the rate of fatal incidents associated with working at height has decreased from 37.5 percent in 2020 to 32.2 percent at the end of 2023. Pointing out that the statistics reflect not only the growing number of machines in use, but also the rising safety consciousness across the sector.

The sixth Platform Günleri will be held at the same time next year at the same location.
