230 tonner for PT

Indonesia's PT Superkrane Mitra Utama has taken delivery of a 230 tonne Liebherr LTM 1230-5.1 All Terrain crane.

The five axle LTM 1230-5.1 is equipped with an eight section 75 metre main boom and can be topped by an 11.5 to 20 metre bi-fold swingaway extension that offsets by up to 40 degrees. Up to three, seven metre inserts can also be added between the boom nose and swingaway for a maximum tip height of 113 metres with the main boom at 68 metres. It will be used primarily for construction projects in the oil & gas, petrochemical, energy sector, mining and infrastructure sectors.

PT Superkrane president director Yafin Tandiono Tan said: "The decision to order the LTM 1230-5.1 was based, among other things, on its technical performance and the specific requirements of a particular customer project. With its 75 metre telescopic boom, Variobase system this crane is the ideal addition to our five axle fleet."

Founded in 1996 and based in Jakarta, PT Superkrane has grown from a small crane rental company with an initial fleet of 20 machines to around 400 cranes, including telescopics up to 500 tonnes and lattice crawler cranes to 750 tonnes, from Liebherr, Demag, Kobelco and Sany. It also runs a fleet of self-propelled aerial work platforms topped by a 120ft articulated boom lift. In total it has 900 employees across 28 locations.
