Five Scorpions for Equipa de Aluger

Portuguese rental company Equipa de Aluguer has taken delivery of five 18 metre Oil & Steel Scorpion 18 telescopic truck mounted lifts.

The Scorpion 18


The five units, all on Iveco 3.5 tonne chassis, were purchased through Oil & Steel’s Iberian distributor Zani Lift. The Scorpion 18 features a three section boom with a pedestal mounted platform for a maximum working height of 17.8 metres. The maximum practical outreach is 11.5 metres over the rear with 100kg in the basket, although if the platform is rotated 90 degrees outreach is closer to 12 metres and even 12.3 at a push. The maximum platform capacity of 300kg is possible at an outreach of up to eight metres. Overall length is 7.35 metres, overall travel width 2.23 metres, and maximum outrigger width 3.3 metres for the front ones only, the rear remain inboard.

Based in Seixal, across the water on the south side of Lisbon, Equipa de Aluguer was established by the current chief executive, João Vidinha, in 2009, and now runs an 1,500 unit fleet that includes self-propelled booms and scissor lifts, spider lifts, and now five truck mounted lifts, plus telehandlers from four to 17 metres, fork lifts and material lifts from eight locations - Matosinhos, Pombal, Sintra, Alfragide, Almada, Seixal, Loulé along with a dedicated Online store. In total it has 35 employees and last year posted revenues of €2.6 million, which is expected to grow considerably this year.
