Bahrain based Modern Mechanical Electrical & Transport (MMETC) has taken delivery of a 450 tonne Liebherr LTM 1450-8.1 All Terrain crane.
The new unit carries out a tandem lift with a Demag AT lifting a skid from a barge in the port of Bahrain
The eight axle LTM 1450-8.1 features a seven section 85 metre main boom, VarioBallast variable counterweight and VarioBase outrigger set up and monitoring. The single engine crane features an Eco mode fuel economy setting and can be equipped with a wide range of lattice extensions including fixed pinned extensions that can be extended in seven metre increments to 56 metres, or employed as a cable suspended 56 metre fixed offset jib, and an 84 metre luffing jib which can be installed on 47.8 metres of main boom for a 136 metre maximum tip height with 3.7 tonnes capacity.

MMETC managing director Mohamed Bucheeri said: “We are experiencing growing demand for cranes with higher capacities and long reach. The LTM 1450-8.1 is a perfect fit for our fleet and enables us to carry out even the most demanding projects efficiently and safely.”

Based in Manama, MMETC is made up of eight divisions, Divisions: - Civil Engineering, Aldana Aluminium, Electrical, Mechanical, Stevedoring, Transport Division and Pre Engineered Building. Th rental operation falls within the Transport Division and runs 50 cranes, along with a wide range of booms and scissor lifts, the comapny weploys around 1,300 and works throughout the Gulf region.
