27m Multitel for Martin Gru

Italian crane and access sales and rental company Martin Gru has taken delivery of a 27 metre Multitel Pagliero MTE 270 EX truck mounted platform.

The MTE 270 EX is mounted on a 3.5 tonne Iveco chassis and features a five section telescopic boom with a pedestal mounted platform, all of which provides a maximum working height of 27 metres, along with a maximum outreach of 17 metres with 100kg in the platform, while the maximum platform capacity of 250kg is possible at up to 12.3 metres outreach. The 270 has 400 degrees slew, and a full 180 degrees of platform rotation.

On arrival, the new platform went straight to work on the maintenance of the bell tower and roof of the Church of Santa Giulia in Migliarina di Carpi, Modena. Designed in the 19th century by architect Achille Sammarini, the church was damaged in the 2012 Emilia earthquake. After temporary repairs, maintenance and safety operations are now underway.

Martin Gru founder and owner Martin Realdon said: "The collaboration with Multitel started thanks to Filippo Rimondi, who immediately proved to be reliable, quick to respond, and practical in finding solutions.”

Based north of Modena, Martin Gru was founded by crane maintenance and repair technician Realdon, and while it still offers this service, now runs a rental fleet of more than 130 machines, which includes self-erecting and top slewing tower cranes, light mobile and spider crane, plus 3.5 tonne truck mounted platforms, scissor lifts and fork trucks along with some general equipment.
