New 80t Tadano for H&S

German crane rental company H&S Autokran has taken delivery of its third Tadano crane, a new 80 tonne AC 4.080.

The four axle AC 4.080-1 features a seven section, 60 metre boom and is equipped with the 8.5 to 16 metre bi-fold swingaway extension for a maximum tip height of almost 79 metres and 40 degrees of offset. The crane can carry up to 9.3 tonnes of counterweight on board within 12 tonne axle loads.

H&S ordered the crane with a full specification, including Surround View camera system, which makes the machine very easy to position in tight spaces

H&S managing director Matthias Schug travelled to the Tadano Lauf plant in Lauf, Bavaria with crane operator Steven Bewick to collect the new crane. Speaking about the crane, he said: “With its 60 metre main boom and compact dimensions, the AC 4.080-1 is the gold standard in the 80 tonne class. It’s simply a great crane, and the amount of counterweight you can travel with it can serve as a highly cost-effective taxi crane for a wide range of the jobs we do. Th IC-1 Plus control system also allows the operator to take advantage of the crane’s maximum available lifting capacity for a given space/set up. In many cases, this combination eliminates the need for a separate counterweight truck."

“On top of all that, Tadano really looks after me. Sales manager Helge Prüfer is great to deal with. He’s a perfect fit for us, both professionally and personally. And that’s another reason why we are always happy to go with Tadano.”

H&S was established in 2010 and is based in Philippsthal, north east of Frankfurt. The company offers a full contract lifting service as well as a 24 hour call-out. The rental fleet includes All Terrain and truck mounted cranes from 40 to 300 tonnes, along with a variety of aerial work platforms and man baskets.
