German hoist manufacturer Geda has supplied two Geda 500 Z/ZP transport platforms and a Geda 300 Z material hoist for renovation of the Oceans Mall in Durban, east South Africa.
The Geda 500 Z/ZP in operation
The Geda 500 Z/ZP can be used as a material lift – offering a 1,000kg capacity at a speed of 12 metres a minute - or as a personnel lift with 500kg/ five people maximum capacity at 24 metres a minute. The 300 Z material lift offers 300kg at a lift speed of 30 metres a minute in the 750mm x 1.4 x 1.1 metre platform. The equipment was supplied through Geda's partner SkyJacks.

SkyJacks divisional director Stephan Naude said: "This project in particular once again highlights how efficient and economical it is to use the right lifting technology. Thanks to the Geda hoists, we were able to work with half the team and achieve a time saving of around 30 percent."
