30th Liebherr for Dewsbury & Proud

UK crane rental company Dewsbury & Proud has taken delivery of its 30th Liebherr All Terrain crane, a 90 tonne LTM 1090-4.2 one of a six unit order. The other cranes are two 60 tonne LTM 1060-3.1’s, two 40 tonne LTM 1040-2.1’s and a 150 tonne LTM 1150-5.4.

The handover

The four axle LTM 1090-4.2 features a 60 metre main boom plus a 9.5 to 16 metre bi-fold swingaway extension with manual offset for a maximum tip height of just under 80 metres. Features include VarioBase variable outrigger setup and remote control system, along with Ecodrive and Ecomode systems for improved fuel consumption, while reducing emissions and noise.

Earlier this year Dewsbury & Proud acquired Ellis Crane Hire, possibly making it the seventh largest crane rental company in the UK.

The company founded in 1977, by Anthony Proud and Jeremy Dewsbury, is based in Wolverhampton, with depots in Loughborough, Coventry and Stoke-On-Trent.

In last year’s Top 30 UK rental companies, Dewsbury & Proud reported a fleet of 50 cranes, including 38 All Terrains - the largest being a five axle 250 tonner - along with four pick & carry cranes and eight spider and mini crawler cranes.
