AGM for Axolift

Italian low level aerial lift manufacturer Axolift has made Discover Dry Cell AGM maintenance free batteries standard equipment on all of its electric platforms.

Axolift chief executive Massimo Grossele said: “Discover Dry Cell AGM batteries are resistant to job site vibrations, while providing stable electrical behaviour and reliable performance under irregular charging patterns. Above all, they help us guarantee simplicity and low total cost of ownership for our customers.”

Discover Battery adopted AGM technology around 30 years ago to provide maintenance free batteries with no acid leaks or gas emissions. The batteries are not classed as hazardous, making them easier to ship and transport.

Discover's technical sales director Stefano Giuliani, added: “Unless lithium improves significantly in terms of cost and recyclability, its use in the aerial work platforms will remain limited as it does not represent a realistic solution for fleet owners or jobsites. A properly designed and built AGM battery offers by far the best balance of performance, safety and cost.”
