UK based L&N Platforms has taken delivery of a 46 metre Bronto S46XDT truck mounted platform, with its second 38 metre S38XDT due to arrive in the coming weeks as part of its ongoing fleet renewal process.
The S46XDT
The S46XDT - chosen following a visit to the Bronto plant in Tampere, Finland in February - has a maximum working height of 45.5 metres, a maximum outreach of 23 metres with an up & over height of 15.2 metres and below ground level reach of nine metres. Platform capacity is 700kg, available at an outreach of 20 metres, with 280 degrees of platform rotation. The overall vehicle width is 2.5 metres, stowed height is 3.75 metres, and length is 10.50 metres, with an overall weight of 18 tonnes. The platform will be used primarily for window cleaning operations.
L&N testing the unit in Finland
L&N director Lee Roebuck said: “This new 46 metre is the fifth Bronto in our fleet, we are excited to be able to upgrade our older Brontos for new ones.”
Bronto sales manager, Ian James, added: “This particular 18 tonne chassis configuration works very well for L&N and it’s ideal for the work they do in London.”
Based in Kent, southern England, L&N Platforms was established by former Bronto operators Lee and Nicky Roebuck. Starting with a single 34 metre Bronto S34XDT truck mount, the company has grown to employ six staff and operates a rental fleet alongside its façade and window cleaning services.
