Welsh rental company Davies Crane Hire has taken delivery of a third 60 tonne Liebherr LTM 1060-3.1 All Terrain crane, the final unit of a three crane order that began in autumn last year.

The three axle LTM 1060-3.1 is equipped with a six section 48 metre boom, topped by a 9.5 to 16 metre bi-fold swingaway extension which takes the maximum tip height to more than 67 metres, while also offering up to 40 degrees of offset. The crane can carry all its 12.8 tonnes of counterweight within the UK’s STGO regulations, which allows axle loads of up to 16.5 tonnes.
Managing director Neil Davies said: "The LTM 1060-3.1 is the best three axle machine on the market. Over the last couple of years, we have slowly replaced all our three axle machines with Liebherr’s LTM 1060-3.1’s."
Established in 1979, Davies Crane Hire runs a fleet of mobile and crawler cranes with capacities ranging from eight tonnes, to a recently purchased 700 tonner ordered as part of its 45th year anniversary celebrations. It operates from four locations in Carmarthen, Port Talbot, Milford Haven, and Cardiff and is one of the largest crane rental companies in Wales.
