Fatal fall from platform

A man has died after falling from a work platform on late Thursday afternoon in the town of Morciola di Vallefoglia (PU)- south west of Rimini on Italy's east coast.

The man, Loris Buscaglia, 54, was an electrician and an employee of Canti & Pedini a supplier of high efficiency heating, air conditioning and solar systems. He was working on a project at the premises of Vetrotec, a local glass furnishings manufacturer and supplier.

The initial reports have stated that the platform was raised to a platform height of around four metres when he fell. According to the paramedics, he would have died instantly. The work platform was inspected and found to be in good working order, so the investigation is focusing on a possible health issue, such as cardiac arrest. As a result, the investigation has been passed to the judicial authorities.

At this time, we cannot confirm what type of platform he was working from. We will, of course, update if and when we learn more.
