180ft boom for Karmøy Lift

Norwegian rental company Karmøy Lift & Maskinutleie has taken delivery of a 180ft Genie SX-180 telescopic boom lift.

The SX-180 features a four section boom topped by a three metre rotating articulated jib to provide a working height of almost 57 metres and an outreach of up to 24.4 metres, while maximum platform capacity is an unrestricted 340kg. The lift can also drive at full height and features the company’s Lift Guard Contact Alarm system.

Managing director Knut Kristoffersen said: “We see increasing demand for extreme reach, particularly on projects involving industry, power infrastructure and large buildings. The Genie SX-180 allows us to take on assignments that previously required alternative access solutions.”

Established in 2006, Karmøy Lift & Maskinutleie runs a fleet of articulated and telescopic boom lifts, forklifts, Rough Terrain and slab scissor lifts, as well as trailer lifts from its base in Veavågen, south west Norway.
