Launched in mid 2024, the six axle LTM 1400-6.1 replaced the 350 tonne LTM 1350-6.1 and offers a six section 70 metre main boom with Y-Guy Superlift, along with numerous lattice extensions and jib options, including a 45.5 metre luffing extension for a maximum tip height of around 120 metres and an 80.5 metre luffing jib for up to 140 metres.

Emerson celebrated the purchase of the crane by inviting a total of 40 customers and staff to Liebherr's production facility in Ehingen for a preview of the unit ahead of its official release.

Emerson’s managing director, Liam Clancy said: “From the moment we saw the crane launched at Liebherr’s customer days in 2024, we were extremely impressed by it. Being on such a compact chassis, equivalent to a 300 tonne crane but having duties on certain configurations comparable to cranes on eight axles, was fantastic.”
“We are very grateful to Liebherr for allowing Emerson’s staff and customers to visit their factory in Germany and to tour the manufacturing facilities, ultimately allowing us to get a greater understanding of the capability of the LTM 1400 6.1."
Emerson Crane Hire was established by Edward Clancy in 1991 and now operates from three locations in Greater London - Dagenham, Basildon and Iver - with a fleet that ranges from three to 450 tonnes made up of mini crawler, spider, All Terrain and self erecting mobile tower cranes.
