250 tonner for Bronzeshield

UK rental company Bronzeshield has taken delivery of a 250 tonne Grove GMK5250XL-1 All Terrain crane as part of a fleet renewal initiative.
The new crane joins two other recent Grove additions, the 300 tonne GMK6300L-1 and the smaller 150 tonne GMK5150XL.

The GMK5250XL-1 features an eight section 78.5 metre main boom topped by an 18 metre bi-fold swingaway extension that can be extended to 34 metres with additional inserts. Features include Grove’s Maxbase variable outrigger setup and all wheel steer. Power comes from a single HVO ready Stage V Mercedes diesel.

The machine has also been equipped with an auxiliary winch for use on special projects with one ot its long term customers, Simmons Industrial Services, as well as fellow crane company, Lee Lifting.

Founded in 1971 by Bill Frost, Bronzeshield is based near Crayford, Kent, on the south east side of London. Frost began the company with an overhead crane and then, in 1976, purchased his first mobile crane. Today, its fleet includes All Terrains up to 500 tonnes, spider cranes and Spierings mobile self-erecting tower cranes. It also has depots in Bromsgrove, near Birmingham and Norwich in East Anglia.
