UK rental company E.J. McGovern Crane Hire has taken delivery of a six tonne/ 48 meter Böcker AK48 truck mounted crane.
The crane ready to go
The AK 48 - launched at Bauma 2022 - features a four section main boom plus a three section telescopic jib for a maximum tip height of 49 metres with a maximum radius of 40 metres. It can handle its maximum capacity at eight metres radius and take 1.5 tonnes to a height of 27.5 metres and a radius of 24 metres. When used as a work platform, it offers a maximum platform capacity of 350kg, with a 48 metre working height.
Böcker UK managing director, Jake McCaugherty said: “Thank you to Kieran and Eddie McGovern for taking this unit, which is one of the new generation of cranes featuring a tower crane function, a high tensile steel boom, a fixed hook attachment, higher working speeds and a compact design for restricted sites.”
The AK48 on its first job
Established in 1995, McGovern operates a fleet of All Terrains from 50 to 250 tonnes as well as tower cranes, city cranes and spider cranes from its depot in Ilkeston, Derbyshire.
