Tadano completes Lauf centre build

Tadano has completed the main structure of its new European spare parts centre in Lauf, east of Nuremberg in Germany, holding a ‘Topping Out’ ceremony earlier this week.
The main structure of the building is complete

The facility will become the hub of Tadano’s European operations, consolidating all spare parts supply at the Lauf facility as well as increasing capacity and parts inventory by around 30 percent.

The centre is set to be fully operational in the second half of this year, managing all European spare parts logistics in collaboration with its long-term logistics partner Gruber.

Executive vice president customer support Frank Schröder said: “With today’s completion, we are taking a decisive step closer to our goal of making spare parts supply for our European customers even faster. The centralised processing at this new centre will allow us to consolidate spare parts for all Tadano cranes into a single shipment, reducing effort and costs for our customers. Its proximity to Leipzig Airport, one of the most important air freight hubs in Europe with excellent global connections, our global business partners, especially in North and South America, will receive air freight shipments much faster.”

Inbound freight from predominantly German suppliers will be delivered directly to Lauf, rather than through the Netherlands, which it says will also help reduce transit and delivery times.
